Using a mitre saw, cut the pine wood boards according to the dimensions of your washer and dryer, and adding 1 in to their total height and 2 in to their width. Sand all the pieces. For instance, we cut a 60-in-long piece and two 44-in-long pieces.
Fix the three pine wood pieces together using wood glue, a drill and wood screws, placing the 60-in board at the end of the 44-in boards. Fill the holes created by the screws using the wood filler. Let dry, and then sand.
Use the wood trims to make the brackets in the top corners. To do so, cut two pieces of 2 in x 4 in x 13 in (longer side) with 45-degree bevel-shaped ends. Make sure that the shelf corners form a 90-degree angle before cutting the angled brackets. Use wood glue, a drill and wood screws to set all the pieces. The brackets must be placed at the back of the structure to leave room for the appliances underneath.
Using a cloth or paint brush, apply taint on the wood structure following the manufacturer’s instructions to have a nice finish. Let dry. Apply varnish if required.
