Affirm allows consumers to spread the cost of purchases into a number of payments, without any hidden fees.

To save time, prequalify yourself before coming to the store

1.    Download the app 

Download the Affirm Canada app on your smartphone. If you already have the app, make sure you have the latest version.

2.     Account 

Once the app is downloaded, create your account.  

3.     Prequalification

IMPORTANT: this step must be completed before you go to checkout. Prequalify by clicking on this link: prequalification.

4.     Go to checkout 1

Present your items at checkout 1 (the only checkout that accepts Affirm) and mention that you want to complete the transaction with Affirm. The employee will ask for your e-mail address and telephone number. You'll receive a link from Affirm on your phone. Click on the link.

5.     Choose your payment plan 

After clicking on the link, you'll be able to choose your payment plan in the Affirm application. Then enter the final information required to complete the transaction. Once you've reached the page informing you that the transaction is complete, mention it to our employee.

To ensure a smooth flow in store, we decided to concentrate all Affirm transactions at checkout 1. 

- Can I use Affirm for any purchase?

The Affirm service is only available for purchases over $300.

- How do returns and refunds work?

Purchases made at Canac with Affirm are subject to our standard return policy. Any return will be managed by Canac and your Affirm balance will be adjusted, cancelled, or refunded accordingly. If you obtain a refund with a gift card, you will have to continue making your payments in full according to your payment plan. To learn more about our return policy, visit the following page.

- Are there conditions to use Affirm ?

To use Affirm in Canada, you must meet the following conditions:

1. Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years old to use Affirm.

2. Billing address in Canada: You must have a billing address in Canada to be eligible.

3. Personal data: You must provide some personal details upon verification of your eligibility for Affirm, such as your name, address, date of birth and other details required for the assessment of your eligibility.

4. Credit history: Affirm can check your credit history to assess your ability to repay your purchases in instalments.

5. Method of payment: You must have a valid method of payment to make your Affirm payments, such as a credit card or a bank account.
