Looking for a way to customize your living space? How about adding some framed art? There are so many types, sizes and colours and they can highlight an endless array of images. Not to mention countless layout possibilities! The Canac team is giving you some ideas for inspiration.
Minimalist frame
Well established trend since the past few years, the minimalist design keeps details to a minimum to emphasize the essential points of a theme or an image. When it comes to wall art, we see it in sober, fine and often monochrome frames and in simple, sleek images. This set of four frames illustrates minimalism perfectly with its simple shapes suggesting women portraits. This style can look good anywhere from the bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom or basement.
Eclectic frame
Anything goes with this style! An eclectic layout often looks like a gallery wall, which means that you can dare mixes and original compositions. You can play with different frames, colours and illustrations. Don’t be shy to even insert decorative objects into your frame wall, such as mirrors, clocks, embroideries, etc. Another possibility would be to create a contrasting effect by mixing streamlined frame structures with more complex or textured ones. Little tip: make sure that you form a consistent whole. You want to avoid creating a bric-a-brac or cluttered effect. To ensure a harmonious result, you can start from a central item around which you develop your gallery wall. Where can you create this kind of frame layout? On an empty wall, above a couch, bed or buffet to create a beautiful focal point or in the staircase, for instance. Simply avoid rooms that are already overloaded.
Thematic wall
The idea is to pick a theme that will guide your selection of one or several frames or reproductions (art, illustration, photo). As a theme, you can think of a colour, style (boho, rustic, chic, etc.), subject (flowers, animals, ocean, jungle, etc.) or anything! Then again, you can make associations between frames and one or several objects to enhance your thematic. You can easily use themes in all of your rooms.
Decoration tip
Frames can be installed on the wall, placed on a furniture, on the ground, or on a floating shelf.
